Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 11) — With the entertainment industry among the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, film producers told the Senate Committee on Economic Affairs they are barely surviving during this health crisis.

MANILA, Philippines—  The country’s film industry, which employs about 300,000 people, is calling for a tax holiday after incurring around P16 billion in losses since the pandemic hit the country last year.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - The bill is named after Philippine cinema veteran Eddie Garcia, who went into a coma and later died after tripping on a cable while on the set of a GMA show in 2019. The House of Representatives passed on final reading a bill that sets policies for the protection of workers and independent contractors in the entertainment industry.
