The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) joined the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation, Inc. (MOWELFUND) as the foundation inaugurated its state-of-the-art building in Quezon City last July 28.
The newly-renovated Mowelfund building houses the Dencar Theatre equipped with Dolby Atmos, a high-tech color grading and digipost service, and memorabilia of industry legends such as former president Joseph Estrada and newly conferred national artist, Ms. Nora Aunor.
The inauguration was led by Mowelfund Chairperson Boots Anson Roa-Rodrigo and was attended by industry stakeholders and partners, including the FDCP, represented by its chairman and CEO, Tirso Cruz III.
Founded by Estrada in 1974, Mowelfund is a non-stock, non-profit social welfare, educational, and industry development foundation which aims to serve marginalized workers in the Philippine motion picture industry.
