MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 4, 2020 — “Let’s Create Together!” was the message of the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) as they enjoined foreign productions to film in the Philippines and work with Filipino talents and companies during the 24th Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART) Online.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, AUGUST 21, 2020 — Four international productions, with two shot in the Philippines and another two co-produced with a Philippine company, are the first recipients of incentives from the FilmPhilippines Office (FPO) of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, AUGUST 26, 2020 — Getting back to work is the main objective of film and audiovisual industries worldwide ever since the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis caused the closure of cinemas and halted production work early this year.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, AUGUST 25, 2020 — Fourteen companies from the Philippines are part of the 24th Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART) while four Filipino film projects are included in the 18th Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) as these platforms go online. 

Four international productions, with two shot in the Philippines and another two co-produced with a Philippine company, are the first recipients of incentives from the FilmPhilippines Office (FPO) of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

Pre-production and project development will now be covered by the Qualified Philippine Production Expenditure (QPPE) for both the FLIP (Film Location Incentive Program) and the ICOF (International Co-production Fund) programs beginning August 2020. Project development (script development, location scouting, pre-production, etc.) can now be included, in addition to the usual coverage for production and post-production (including animation and VFX).
