The world continues to join the Philippines in the celebration of its One Hundred Years of Philippine Cinema, especially as the Philippines has been announced as this year’s Spotlight Country at the 22nd Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF). The festival will run from July 19 to 28, 2019 in World Heritage sites Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende in Mexico.

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) in partnership with the Embassy of Colombia in the Philippines will hold the first-ever Colombian Film Festival in the country. The Festival will take place from July 16 to 19, 2019 at the Cinematheque Centre Manila, August 20 to 24, 2019 at the Cinematheque Centre Iloilo, and October 2 to 5, 2019 at the Cinematheque Centre Davao.

Ten (10) films have completed the slate for the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) 2019 as announced by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) during the PPP 2019 Grand Launch last July 11, 2019 at Sequoia Hotel in Diliman, Quezon City.

Organized by the Shangri-La Plaza in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), the Festival happens from June 19 to 22, 2019 at Shangri-La Plaza’s Red Carpet Cinema 4, which coincides with national hero Jose Rizal's 158th birth anniversary last June 19.

Spain's fifth edition of the Bridging the Gap (BTG) Animation Lab has selected Filipino animated TV series project “Alphabesties” by Neema B. Ejercito to take part in its intensive workshop sessions this July 14 to 20, 2019 in Tenerife, Spain. Produced by Toast & Brew Studios, “Alphabesties” is the only Filipino project chosen for this year’s Lab.
