FDCP leads PH Delegation in Asian Contents & Film Market in Busan
MANILA, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 14, 2021 — Leading the country’s representatives, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) along with seven Filipino companies, are taking part in the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) in Busan from October 11 to 14.
Launched in 2006 and formerly known as the Asian Film Market, ACFM is one of the leading film business markets in Asia that offers various services including online meetings, exhibition, screening, and other events. The 16th ACFM is going hybrid as it runs alongside the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) from October 6 to 15.
This year, FDCP hosted the online panel discussion titled “Co-Producing with the Philippines” on October 12 and a virtual Philippine pavilion with seven local companies: Sine Caboloan Ltd. Co., ABS-CBN (International Production & Co-Production), ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc., Eichef Media \ HFilms Co., Cignal Entertainment, The Producers Asia, and KT House Productions Inc.
From October 12 to 14, ACFM is also hosting diverse events online such as the Asian Project Market (APM) where producer Armi Cacanindin and director Sigrid Andrea Bernardo with their project “Happy Endings” are participating, while Erik Matti's "On The Job: The Missing 8" and Brillante Mendoza's "Gensan Punch" are both screening under the “A Window On Asian Cinema” section of the 26th BIFF.
“It is exciting to take part in one of Asia’s largest film markets and proudly lead the country’s representatives. We hope that we can showcase what our country has to offer through the Agency’s incentives program,” said FDCP Chairperson and CEO Liza Diño.
In 2020, FDCP also participated in the online ACFM hosting a Philippine Pavilion booth with a Philippine delegation of 10 local companies, and organized the Philippine Cinema Night and the “Screen Talk: Asian Production Bounces Back” webinar.
