FDCP opens applications for free acting workshop for Filipino actors
MANILA, PHILIPPINES, 05 JUNE 2023 — To provide education and training to Filipino talents through its Film School program, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is launching a free workshop for working Filipino actors through its “Meisner Crash Course for Actors” project.
48 Filipino actors will be selected from the pool of applications and they will learn the Meisner technique from three Filipino Designated Meisner Teachers: Angeli Bayani, Alecx Lorica, and Norbs Portales.
Developed by American theater actor Sanford Meisner, the Meisner technique utilizes the actor’s capacity for imagination and authenticity, training them to act more freely and connect naturally with their scene partners.
The exclusive one week workshop will be held from July 10 to July 16 at the Cinematheque Centre Manila. An acting showcase, an invitation-only event, which aims to provide an opportunity to the participants to showcase their acting skills is slated to be held on July 16.
Interested applicants may submit their applications through this link on or before June 9: ttps://bit.ly/FDCPFilmSchool-MeisnerCrashCourse
Shortlisted applicants will have an initial interview with the Meisner teachers. The final list of selected applicants will be announced on June 28.
