What to Expect from Film Ambassadors' Night 2020
The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is set to kick off the year celebrating Philippine cinema’s cream of the crop, the internationally award-winning film industry members, at the agency’s fourth annual Film Ambassadors’ Night to be held this Sunday February 9 at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Before the official program commences, FDCP will be providing cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at the lobby of the Maybank theater to allow for networking between the different honorees. This gathering celebrates the successes of the various filmmakers and allows for chances of collaboration.
Following opening remarks by FDCP Chairperson and CEO Liza Diño, Film Ambassadors’ Night will honor ‘Film Ambassadors’ in seven (7) categories (short film, documentary, technical & creative, acting, feature film, special citation and A-Lister). The night will conclude with closing remarks from FDCP chair Liza Diño following the presentation of the ‘Camera Obscura’ award to this year’s three chosen awardees: Ricky Lee, Cathy Garcia-Molina, and Nick Deocampo.

The program is under the direction of multi-awarded singer and actor Ice Seguerra who has directed concerts and events and is supporting FDCP as a labor of love and pledge of support to the film industry. The 4th Film Ambassadors’ Night will feature three performances: an opening dance number performed by the Novel Dance Collective and choreographed by Jan Lloyd Celecio and Jovin Lazaro to start the event, a special performance of Rainbow's Sunset movie theme song, and a concluding performance by singers Janice Javier and Frenchie Dy.

At the conclusion of the night will be an after-party, which serves to provide ample opportunity for film industry workers to mingle and network amongst each other, opening up for the possibility of discussing future projects and other creative endeavors.
The annual event honors the many ‘Film Ambassadors’ of Philippine cinema, the diverse group of film workers, be they directors, actors and actresses, producers and more whose works succeeded in receiving awards or honors in different international film festivals and other global platforms. This year will feature 66 honorees and three Camera obscura awardees.
Film Ambassadors’ Night 2020 will be screened at the official FDCP Facebook Page. See www. facebook.com/FDCP.ph for more details.
