1st Philippine Film Industry Month celebration carries on

The first-ever Philippine Film Industry Month has just kicked off, and it is overwhelming to have already received much support in our first week. We have more events and programs throughout the month, and I am excited to share with you what the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has lined up for the rest of Philippine Film Industry Month.

1st Philippine Film Industry Month debuts this September (Part 1)

In just a few days, the Philippines will officially celebrate and commemorate the heritage, significance, and legacy of Philippine Cinema through the 1st Philippine Film Industry Month in September, an annual month-long observation mandated by President Rodrigo Duterte through Presidential Proclamation No. 1085 signed on February 3, 2021.

NCR under Alert Level 4, Film and AV Shoot Allowed to Operate with Max of 50 People Onsite

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 17, 2021 — Following the Inter-Agency Task Force’s (IATF) COVID-19 Alert Levels System, Metro Manila is currently placed under Alert Level 4 from September 16 until 30. The new quarantine scheme of granular lockdown aims to curb the COVID-19 cases while allowing economic activities.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 16, 2021 — The much awaited annual flagship program of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) puts the spotlight on short films this year as it kicks off its fifth edition with free screenings from the 25 finalists from Sine Kabataan Short Film Competition and Sine Isla: LuzViMinda Short Film Competition on September 17 to 26 on the FDCP Channel.

'On The Job: The Missing 8’s World Premiere Captivates Venice in Five-Minute Standing Ovation, John Arcilla Wins Best Actor Award

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 12, 2021 — Ending in a five-minute standing ovation during its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, “On The Job: The Missing 8” by Erik Matti, the sole Southeast Asian film in the main competition, bagged the Coppi Volpi (Volpi Cup) for Best Actor for John Arcilla’s performance in the film.  

FDCP’s International Film Industry Conference Online 2021 Reveals Lineup of its 5th Edition

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 9, 2021 (UPDATED) — As one of the main highlights of the Philippine Film Industry Month this September, the elevated International Film Industry Conference (IFIC) organized by the Film Development of Council (FDCP), has put together 11 free public sessions and seven masterclasses from September 16 to 19 featuring the heavyweights and leaders of the global film industry. 

FDCP to Host PH Film Industry Gala Night and Elwood Perez Retrospective Online

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 8, 2021 — The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will be postponing its onsite events for the Philippine Film Industry Gala Night and Elwood Perez Retrospective until further notice. Originally set to take place in the Manila Metropolitan Theatre in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), these events, as announced by the FDCP in its Press Conference last August 26, 2021, will be deferred to a later date in light of the rising Covid-19 cases in Metro Manila. 

Full Circle Lab Philippines Announces Selections for 2021 Edition

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 7, 2021 — Full Circle Lab Philippines (FCL PH), a development program organized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) with Tatino Films, has released their official selections for the program’s four labs to be held online on September 20 to October 1.
