MANILA, PHILIPPINES, JUNE 16, 2021 — The first Filipino Netflix animated film, “Hayop Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story” by Avid Liongoren, has been selected to compete in this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France from June 14 to 19.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, JUNE 1, 2021 — In celebration of Pride Month this June, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will hold the 2nd PelikuLAYA: LGBTQIA+ Film Festival online from June 4 to 30. 

Pride Month may seem like the perfect time to bring out your rainbow-colored flags, join fun parades, and purchase a new pride-themed merch to add to your collection; but there’s more to it than meets the eye. The month of June is most significant to every individual representing the different colors in the gender spectrum with a common goal in mind: to achieve equality and be genuinely free.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, MAY 27, 2021 — Before proceeding with the production of their respective projects and in line with the Film Development Council of the Philippines’ (FDCP) promotion of health and safety guidelines during the pandemic, the 10 finalists of the Sine Kabataan 4 Short Film Competition underwent the Safe Filming Lab to be oriented on the government’s prescribed safety and health protocols for production shoots amid the pandemic.
