This September, the spotlight shines on the women who shaped, led and transformed our cinema as the FDCP celebrates Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM) 2025 with a vibrant lineup of programs and events for all kinds of Filipino cineastes.
              FDCP TO PREMIERE RESTORED VERSION OF NATIONAL ARTIST GERARDO DE LEON’S 1951 CLASSIC ‘SISA’MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) proudly announces the premiere of the digitally restored version of ‘Sisa’ (1951), directed by National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Gerardo de Leon. This special screening is set for October 27, 2025 (Monday) at the Metropolitan Theater, in celebration of the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage. This restoration, undertaken by the Philippine Film Archive, forms part of the FDCP’s ongoing efforts to safeguard the country’s cinematic heritage. This event also marks the agency’s second restored film premiere for 2025.
              THE PHILIPPINES GOES TO CANNES 2025CANNES, FRANCE –The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is representing the country at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, from May 13 to 24, 2025. The Cannes Film Festival, one of the most prestigious film industry events in the world, offers a valuable platform for the Philippine delegation to amplify the country's presence in global cinema.
              FDCP TO SCREEN RESTORED VERSION OF NORA AUNOR’S 1984 FILM ‘MERIKAMANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) proudly presents the premiere of the digitally restored version of ‘Merika (1984) by Gil Portes at the Metropolitan Theater on May 18, 2025. This restoration is part of the council's ongoing commitment to preserving Philippine cinema through the Philippine Film Archive.
