Philippines is Country of Focus at Singapore Media Festival 2018

After its successful Philippine participation in Busan International Film Festival at Busan, South Korea, the Film Development Council of the Philippines leads the country again as Country of Focus at the Singapore Media Festival, celebrating two important milestones in its history - the 100 Years of Philippine Cinema and the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and Singapore for the following year.

Outstanding short films that break the stigmas on HIV and AIDS in the Philippines were given recognition at the CineSpectra 2019 Short Film Festival Awards Night last August 26, 2019 at TriNoma Mall in Quezon City. The Film Festival was organized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and EON Foundation in partnership with LoveYourself Inc. and Directors’ Guild of the Philippines (DGPI).

FDCP Teams Up with EON Foundation for CineSpectra Film Fest on HIV and AIDS Awareness

To showcase films that aim to break the stigmas on HIV and AIDS in the country and to empower filmmakers to turn stories into films with powerful advocacies, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), together with EON Foundation, LoveYourself Inc., and Directors' Guild of the Philippines (DGPI) is hosting the CineSpectra 2019 Short Film Festival. The Festival will take place from August 26 to 27, 2019 at TriNoma Mall in Quezon City, and from August 28 to 30, 2019 at the Cinematheque venues in Manila, Iloilo, and Davao.

A free screening of Robin Campillo’s award-winning French drama film “BPM (Beats per Minute)” will kick off the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and EON Foundation's CineSpectra 2019 Short Film Festival this August 26, 2019 in Trinoma. The Festival aims to raise HIV and AIDS awareness among audiences and is conducted in partnership with LoveYourself Inc. and Directors' Guild of the Philippines (DGPI).

Mabuhay Bollywood: An Indian Film Festival

To commemorate the 70 years of India-Philippines diplomatic relations, the Embassy of India, Manila, in partnership with Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and Red Carpet Cinema, Shangri-la Plaza, organized a press screening of “Mabuhay Bollywood”, an Indian Film Festival, last August 13, 2019 at the Premiere Theatre, Level 6, Red Carpet, Shangri-la Plaza.

FDCP Leads Philippines as Country of Focus for Busan International Film Festival 2018

In recognition and celebration of the One Hundred Years of Philippine Cinema, the Philippines has been announced as the Country of Focus of the 23rd BUSAN International Film Festival. As part of the official announcement by the organizers, Philippine Cinema will be highlighted in a number of activities and events during the Festival whose delegation will be headed by the Film Development Council of the Philippines.

The Philippines is for the first time represented as a delegation to the Neo Cinemap Fukuoka Asian Film Market 2018 this September in Fukuoka, Japan. Led by the FDCP's Philippine Film Export Services Office (PFESO), the country is taking part in this market hub for professionals in the Asian film industry and projects in development.
