The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has partnered with the Embassy of France in Manila and the Animation Council of the Philippines (ACPI) to collaborate with the Audiovisual Cooperation Department for Southeast Asia of the French Embassy in Singapore, Annecy, and the Annecy International Animation Film Market (MIFA) and bring Animation du Monde in Manila this February 18 to 22, 2019.

​​​​​​​Four (4) Filipino films gained international recognition at the 52nd Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival last April 13 at the WorldFest Remi Awards Gala at the HQ Westin Hotel in Houston, Texas.

“The Halt” (“Ang Hupa”), the new feature film by Berlinale’s Silver Bear Alfred Bauer Prize winner Lav Diaz, joins this year’s lineup of films for the prestigious Director’s Fortnight, a non-competitive film showcase that runs alongside the Cannes Film Festival.

Eight impressive Filipino films will be featured at the 32nd Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) starting October 28 in Tokyo, Japan, including Paul Soriano’s “Mañanita” and Bradley Liew’s “Motel Acacia” in Competition and Asian Future Sections.

During its annual Philippine Cinema Night at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) held last October 6 at the Haeundae Rooftop Bar, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) revealed its biggest news yet as it launched two (2) new film incentives to encourage international film productions to shoot and work in the Philippines. The incentive program was also announced during the welcome reception at the Asian Film Market last October 5.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 28, 2020 (UPDATED) — In response to the clamor to lengthen the duration of the 4th Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP), plus due to the inclusion of new titles to the lineup now totaling 170 films, and to accommodate the final fine-tuning of some works in the PPP Premium Selection section, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has extended the festival’s run from 16 days to 44 days. PPP4 will be held from October 31 to December 13.

With the festival’s 25th edition having kicked off this week, movie buffs from Korea now have the chance to watch several new films across different categories and genres including BIFF’s “A Window on Asian Cinema” and “Wide Angle” sections, both of which will be screening a select number of Filipino films. 

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 24, 2020 — Fans of Philippine Cinema from Italy and across Europe will get to enjoy the European Philippine International Film Festival (EPIFF) after all. With the support of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and in partnership with the Philippine Italian Association (PIA) and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ICCPI), EPIFF will be holding its third edition online this year on October 24 and 25. 

In this edition of PPP4 Spotlight, we will be spotlighting the opening film of the upcoming Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino: a documentary by acclaimed filmmaker and National Artist for Film Kidlat Tahimik entitled “Ang Lakaran ni Kabunyan: Kabunyan’s Journey to Liwanag.” The film will make its Philippine online premiere at the festival on October 31 and will screen under the PPP4 Premium Selection section.
