The long wait is almost over as cinemas in Metro Manila are welcoming back moviegoers to enjoy the experience of witnessing films on big screens again. While this is huge for Filipino movie buffs, health and safety protocols must still be observed.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 26, 2021 — A total of 5,102 film and audiovisual workers have been fully vaccinated under the Film Development Council of the Philippines’ (FDCP) #GoodJab Vaccination Program in partnership with the Quezon City (QC) and Manila City Government.

Cinemas are back! I developed my love for watching films in the cinema at an early age. As my mother was a theater checker, I used to sneak inside theaters to catch films. As a film worker now, I know how hard filmmakers, producers, actors, and the whole production team work to produce a movie and the long journey to getting it to the big screen for audiences to enjoy.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 21, 2021 — For the first time since the pandemic-induced lockdowns began, cinemas are allowed to reopen. Following the downgraded Alert Level 3 in Metro Manila by the Inter-Agency Task Force’s (IATF) COVID-19, various business establishments are allowed to reopen starting on October 16 to 30. 

While the COVID-19 pandemic forced many establishments to reduce its accessibility, the cinemas were forced to close temporarily. Now, after over a year of being closed, we are happy to announce that - CINEMAS ARE BACK.

After an eternity of cinema closure, the time has come to experience “Dune” on the big screen the way it’s meant to be seen. Warner Bros. Philippines is happy to announce that the epic adventure will open exclusively in Philippine theaters on Wednesday, Nov. 10.
