FDCP to establish a film school community through Academic Film Society; to provide cash grants of up to PHP 50,000 to student filmmakers
MANILA, PHILIPPINES, MARCH 14, 2023 — To gather and nurture a community of emerging filmmakers from the student body, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will officially launch the Academic Film Society (AFS) program on March 18 at the Cinematheque Centre Manila.

STUDENT FILM ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Student Film Assistance Program (SFAP) is a funding program exclusively offered to students who are currently enrolled in AFS-registered colleges and universities and will be producing their thesis film. Successful projects may receive a grant amounting from PHP 30,000.00 to PHP 50,000.00 for the production of a thesis film project.

The Academic Film Society (AFS) is the FDCP-led association of schools, colleges, and universities in the Philippines with existing film programs, film courses, film clubs or related student organizations.
