FDCP Chairperson and CEO Liza Diño-Seguerra expressed congratulations to the teams behind the three Filipino projects in the Kre8tif! 2020 Official Selection. She added that the FDCP and SIKAP partnership for Kre8tif! 2020 shows that the national film agency remains faithful to its goal of empowering the Philippine animation industry.
Extending support to the animation sector was officially included in the FDCP’s priority programs since 2017. “The goal is not just to sustain the already thriving service sector of animation but to open up opportunities for original Intellectual Property (IP) creation as well,” said Diño-Seguerra.
SIKAP, a fairly new organization that aims to support local content creators in developing their IP for global consumption, also congratulated the Philippine delegation for an “awesome performance” at Kre8tif! 2020. “Your IPs truly reflect the readiness of the Philippines to bring animated content to the international arena! Thank you, Film Development Council of the Philippines, for your unwavering support and belief in cultivating and bringing local animation to the world stage,” stated a SIKAP Facebook post.
