Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 6 Kicks Off with Restored Classic Films of National Artist Nora Aunor

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 13, 2022 — Newly-restored film Atsay by Eddie Garcia and Gumapang Ka sa Lusak by Mario O’Hara, starring new National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora Aunor, were screened for free at the opening of the Film Development Council of the Philippines’ (FDCP) banner program Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) last September 9 at Cinema 6 of TriNoma Malls in Quezon City.

PH Embassy in Rome, FDCP to Host 3rd Philippine Film Festival in Italy

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 10, 2022 —The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) supports the 3rd Philippine Film Festival in Italy (Festival del Cinema Filippino in Italia) to be hosted by the Philippine Embassy in Rome and Sentro Rizal Rome happening this September 10-11, 2022.

Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) Featuring PPP Classics

For PPP Classics, feature films Atsay and Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos, will be screened on September 9; Cain at Abel and Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak written by National Artist Ricky Lee on September 14; and Brutal and Karnal by late director National Artist Marilou Diaz-Abaya on September 15. These screenings are supported by Solar Films, ABS-CBN’s Sagip Pelikula, and Viva Films.

Kidlat Tahimik’s exhibit at the Cinematheque Centre Manila

FDCP will hold an opening ceremony for National Artist Kidlat Tahimik’s exhibit at the Cinematheque Centre Manila titled “Indio-Genius: 500 Taon Labanan Kontra Magellan, Marilyn, Mickey at Padre Damaso,” featuring art installations and a special screening of his Balikbayan #1: The Silent Movie. The exhibit is a playful depiction of the  resistance/non-resistance, the cultural encounters ,  of the Philippines to colonial icons.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, SEPTEMBER 8, 2022 — The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) flagship film festival, Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP), returns to the big screen this year featuring award-winning classic films of the new National Artists for Film and Broadcast Arts. The films will be screened for free in TriNoma Cinema in Quezon City and in all Cinematheques Centres nationwide (Manila, Iloilo, Negros, Davao, and Nabunturan) from September 9 to 23.

September 7, 2022, Manila, Philippines — The Film Development Council of the Philippines hosts the National Artist for Film Kidlat Tahimik art exhibit at the Cinematheque Centre Manila. The exhibit titled “Indio-Genius: 500 Taong Labanan Kontra Magellan, Marilyn, Mickey, at Padre Damaso” returns to the Philippines after six months in Spain and will be open to the public until the end of the year. The exhibit ruminates on the cultural encounters of Filipinos since the 1521 arrival of the Spanish fleet in the Philippine archipelago. 

FDCP Opens 2nd Philippine Film Industry Month with National Artist Gerry de Leon’s Restored Classic ‘The Moises Padilla Story’

FDCP Celebrates FPJ’s 83rd Birthday with Free Film Screenings at Cinematheque Centres Nationwide

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, AUGUST 30, 2022 — In celebration of the 83rd birthday of “The King of Philippine Movies” and National Artist for Film Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ), and the month-long festivities for the Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM) in September, the Philippine Film Archive (PFA) of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), in partnership with FPJ Productions, Inc., will hold free screenings of FPJ’s films from August 31 to September 3 as part of “Archive Focus” in all Cinematheques Centres nationwide (Manila, Iloilo, Negros, Davao, and Nabunturan).
